– GCE A Levels: A minimum of 3 subjects with grades A or B in biology, chemistry, and either math or physics. If neither math nor physics was taken at A Levels, a strong third non-science subject may be accepted, provided there is proof that math or physics was taken at AS Level.
– CAPE Units 1 and 2: Minimum of Grade 2 in Units I & II, including chemistry, biology, and one other subject – preferably math or physics.
– Full IB Diploma: Minimum score of 32 points: 3 HL science subjects and 2 HL subjects, including minimum grade 5 in biology and chemistry.
– Associate degree: with a strong biological science background.
– All 10+ 2 India Senior Secondary School Certificate:  Minimum average of 80% average in biology, chemistry, math, physics, and English. *A pre-sessional math program may be necessary if math has not been taken or successfully completed before  matriculation.
– IELTS: 7.0 overall and 7.0 on each band required for direct entry
– TOEFL: 94-101 overall is required for direct entry

SGU bundles most student support services (tech, wellness, student life) into the Administrative Fee. Health insurance is handled separately depending on student eligibility and may vary by location. Note: There are no administrative fees for the preclinical MD Tracks.
The same tuition rates apply to the MD program and tracks at Northumbria University.

Total Estimated Cost of Attendance

The total cost of attendance (COA) is an estimate of what it costs a typical student to attend SGU School of Medicine. The COA is not the actual price you will pay, and your actual expenses may be different than the COA. This worksheet is provided to help you to plan out a personal budget for your program of study.

The COA is made up of two different types of costs: direct and indirect.

Direct costs are items that will appear on your university bill, such as tuition, fees, books, and housing (if you live on campus).
Indirect costs will not appear on your bill but are estimated costs associated with going to SGU. These include items like transportation and personal expenses and should be factored in when you are planning the financial resources needed for your program of study.

Cost of Attendance Components

Tuition: Charges for academic instruction and coursework.
Administrative Fees: Institutional fees covering campus facilities, and student services.
Exam Fees: Costs associated with required licensing examinations, such as the STEP and OET exams.
Housing: Average on-campus shared-suite housing costs. Students living off-campus will not be billed for housing.
Food: Estimated cost of groceries and dining out.
Transportation: Estimated cost of round-trip airfare to Grenada or designated clinical hospital locations.
Air Evacuation: Cost of emergency medical evacuation policy when treatment is not available in Grenada.
Medical Insurance: Cost of the school-sponsored medical insurance plan. Students with comparable personal coverage may waive this fee. See the Student Health Insurance Portal for more details.
Books: Cost of term 1 required books and PD kit for which you will be billed.
Miscellaneous: Estimated cost for personal expenses such as toiletries and other incidental items.

Choose UK Pathway option available at St George’s University

Four-, Five, and Six-year MD students who begin their studies at NU will go on to one year or more of their degree at our technologically advanced campus in Grenada.
Faculty from both SGU and NU teach the basic sciences program.
As the programs mirror each other, entry requirements, curriculum, and testing cadence all follow the same principles learning outcomes and schedules, which allows students to receive the exact same educational foundation regardless of location.
Students studying in Newcastle will not only gain academic credit from SGU towards the MD degree but will also be eligible to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Sciences (BMedSci). These students are invited to attend NU’s graduation ceremony, held each year at the SGU Campus in Grenada.
